Jacques Hostettler

Born in Vevey in 1974, Jacques Hostettler studied percussion at the Conservatoire de Lausanne with Stéphane Borel and in 1997 he obtains a 1st Prize of Virtuosity with Congratulations. The same year, he receives a scholarship from the "Association des Musiciens Suisses", that gives him the opportunity to play a recital at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Switzerland.

From 1991, Jacques Hostettler followed several orchestral training courses and became member of the Swiss Youth Orchestra and the World Orchestra Jeunesses Musicales. After which he plays timpani at the Sinfonietta Lausanne and collaborates with several orchestras (Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Orchestre Philharmonique Suisse, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande).

Jacques Hostettler is also a soloist and a chamber musician and plays with several groups, in particular with the "Psophos" percussion quartet, for which he arranges and composes music or with Jean-François Bovard and the "Compagnie d'Eustache".
